A mechanical dimmer for non-dimmable luminaires with discharge lamps (HQL or metal halide) Development began in 1998 and came to an end around 2017 with the widespread introduction of LED systems in the event sector. Apart from very special applications (low-pressure sodium luminaires), this mechanical dimming system has largely been replaced by modern LED systems.
